Hi! I’m Blake Haney, the co-owner and chief mobility host of Handi-Care Transportation Services.
(FUN FACT: I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where I maintain strong support for the Alabama Crimson Tide!)
I started my career working for several top companies throughout the Southeast and the continental United States. I was entrusted with moving valuable cargo throughout the region, and I took that responsibility seriously.
The experience was rewarding and challenging. Later on, I gained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training for ambulance services and cared for my community’s furry family members as a veterinary assistant.
When those two parts of my life came together, I knew that it was time to take my own business plunge. So here we are, Handi-Care Transportation.
We’re here to ensure you know they’re in good hands when they leave yours!
Handi-Care became vision of mine after a conversation with a friend who was having difficulty finding accessible transportation for his mother who utilized a wheelchair for mobility. He was unable to find quality, reliable medical transportation in the Tuscaloosa County area.
his limited the family’s ability to include his mom in family activities. Later, as I was working as a ride-share driver, I encountered patrons who had similar needs. This led me to investigate the possibility of starting my own non-emergency medical transportation in Alabama (NEMT) business.
Luckily, about the same time, I met Dr. Kevin Hayes, M.D., who expressed an interest in my ideas. He had also seen the need for this type of service in his medical practice. Over the course of the next few months, we developed a plan to start our NEMT business.
Handi-Care is comprised of knowledgeable, hard working, service oriented employees that have helped make Handi-Care Transportation Services become one of the most trusted and reliable nonemergency transportation companies in the industry.
